We are the ones!

The biggest technological conference in the world is going to happen in Portugal this year and Lisbon is the spotlight.

As one of the official sponsors of this major event we are preparing a warm welcome for all of those who have interest in technology and made it grow with innovative ideas, investing in the future. We couldn’t be more proud and by “we” I mean the Portuguese people.

Lisbon will be the new European spotlight.

New technologies, investors, new services, professionals from everywhere, curious, kids and frowns ups… everything and everyone will be meeting in our town. What is going to happen here? Networking and opportunities will be the strengths of this event.

Despite the good news I find convenient to also point out some issues in Portugal: our country is living a difficult time with a daily raising unemployment rate. In the other hand we have also a lack of professionals in the IT area and that’s why all these opportunities remain empty and without response.

I think that clearly we are living in a time of change and its becoming more and more necessary to sensitize the young generations about their professional choices, it is extremely necessary to reformulate the education programs and, in some cases, work on the requalification of the unemployed. That’s the only way we might be able to revert the actual situation. Besides, we still have a strong emigration of qualified professionals.

The presence of Web Summit in Lisbon is the proof that we have value, we have a lot to offer in this country and we are able to deliver innovative, complex and demanding projects.

Here is my appeal to all future and active professionals in the world of IT: we need you all because today we were the chosen ones. This is our opportunity.

The future arises very dynamic and entrepreneur, we are going to make it happen. What about you?
